Dolphin Terrace Elementary School student Levi Loya is known throughout campus for his extraordinary efforts to support classmates and teachers, who say he is always the first to offer help without being asked, simply out of the goodness of his heart.
When a student is absent, school leaders say Levi takes it upon himself to provide notes for the student so they don’t fall behind, demonstrating maturity and a strong sense of responsibility for their success. If a classmate is struggling with directions, an activity, or a concept, Levi becomes their personal tutor, patiently taking the time to explain the material in a way the student can understand. When a student in class recently broke her arm, Levi immediately stepped up to help, carrying her belongings from class to class and assisting her with accessing the materials she needed throughout the day.
Levi also takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment. Before transitioning to another class, he makes sure materials are put away and the space is ready for the next group of students. His leadership, kindness, and commitment to helping others make him a positive role model and an outstanding student, and we are proud to honor his efforts with the March President’s Award.
