Two outstanding Ysleta ISD students earned scholarships recognizing their excellence in speech and debate at the 2026 Texas Forensic Association (TFA) State Contest in March.
Ysleta High School senior Dahlia Ornelas and Parkland High School senior Azra Rios-Carroll were each awarded a $1,000 TFA Scholarship, given annually to four outstanding students across the state. Recipients are selected based on academics, honors and achievements, financial need, and service to the speech and debate community.
Both Dahlia and Azra were celebrated during the TFA Awards Ceremony, where their dedication was recognized among the best competitors in Texas. Congratulations to both students on this well-deserved honor as they take the next step in their educational journeys!
