Points of Pride

  • Welcome to Eastwood Middle School, Home of the Raiders!

At Eastwood Middle School, we believe that students are the heart of the school. The detailed attention given to nurturing their body, mind, and soul through a variety of academic and extracurricular activities make the middle school years a positive experience for all who become a part of our campus community.

As the 2013-2014 NCUST (National Council for Urban School Transformation) Gold Winner, we take great pride in the experiences we offer our students. From an academic standpoint, our students are taught by highly qualified teachers, including one of the 2015-2016  finalists for the Ysleta Independent School District’s Martha Valdez Outstanding Educators award! The high caliber of instruction is further evidenced by the campus having received 6 out of 7 distinction designations from the state for academic achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness. In addition, our campus was awarded the CREST Award (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence in Texas) based on our efforts to place our students’ emotional well-being at the same level of importance as their academic growth.

The extracurricular offerings at our campus include opportunities across the sports, arts, and other outside interests. Our athletic program is known for its success and provides multiple opportunities for students to excel! During the 2015-2016 school year, our campus proudly held sixteen different District Championship sports titles, in turn leading us to be awarded the Superintendent’s Championship Cup! Our performing and visual arts programs (to include band, orchestra, choir, guitar, piano, and theater) have earned our students recognition for excellence at numerous competitions throughout the city as well as rankings for top performances as well as multiple awards at the University Interscholastic League competition to include 1st Place Sweepstakes in Speech and Theater, 1st Place Sweepstakes in Academic events and the Overall Sweepstakes Award. In addition to the sports and arts, we offer students the opportunity to participate in organizations such as Student Leadership, Student Council, and one of the few middle school chapters of Future Business Leaders of America!

With all of the great things happening at Eastwood Middle School, who wouldn’t want to be a Raider?
