Points of Pride
North Star Elementary School, located in northeast El Paso, first opened in January 2003. Since its opening, it has been named a Texas Education Agency Exemplary or Recognized School. North Star's most recent recognition is achieving six out of six distinction designations by the Texas Education Agency and being named an "A" campus.
North Star was also recently recognized as a Texas Honor Roll School by Educational Results Partnership (ERP). Our campus was one of seventeen YISD schools recognized for demonstrating high academic achievement as well as for reducing the achievement gaps across various student populations.

Extra Curricular Activities
VEX Robotics: Fourth and fifth graders are provided the opportunity to join our campus Robotics Club. Members get hands-on experience building and driving the robots they've built. Top campus teams get to compete against other teams at various District Competitions with a chance to go to Regionals, State, and World Competitions.
UIL: Students in third to fifth grade were given the opportunity to participate in UIL competitions. Students competed in oral reading and spelling with students placing 4th and 5th place respectively.
Parents are invited to become district volunteers or join the Watch D.O.G.S. Program. (Dads Of Great Students).
