Parkland High School Army JROTC proudly brought home 1st Place Overall at the NO Skills District Meet on Saturday, outperforming 20 schools across the competition hosted at Socorro High School!

Even more impressive, this marks our THIRD CONSECUTIVE 1st Place finish — a THREE-PEAT! Much like Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls during their legendary 1991, 1992, and 1993 championship run, our Matador Battalion has now secured the top spot three years in a row!

What makes this year's victory especially meaningful is the determination of our cadets. In previous years, we have typically taken a team of approximately 20–24 cadets to compete. This year, we had just 16 cadets who made the commitment to represent Parkland.

But they did not allow smaller numbers to determine their outcome.

These 16 cadets showed up, competed, remained motivated throughout the entire event, supported one another, and gave their best effort from beginning to end. They demonstrated that success is not always determined by the size of the team—it is determined by the commitment, discipline, teamwork, resilience, and heart of the people on it.

They competed against 20 schools and walked away #1.

2024. 2025. 2026. THREE YEARS. THREE WINS. THREE-PEAT!

Representing the Matador Battalion, Cadet Battalion Commander Angela Mejia and Cadet Executive Officer Andrew Rubio proudly accepted the 1st Place Overall trophy on behalf of the team. Their acceptance of the trophy represented the hard work, commitment, teamwork, and determination of all 16 cadets who competed and contributed to this incredible three-peat victory.
