Grandparents’ Day Celebration – September 16 🎉
📍 Location: YWLA Gym (8040 Yermoland Dr.)
⏰ Time: 8:30–10:30 AM (Doors open at 8:00 AM)
🎟 Fee: $12 per person – All students, parents, grandparents, and siblings 3+ must purchase a ticket to participate (✨ Performers will receive a complimentary ticket.)
👗 Student Dress Code:
Everyone is invited to dress in school-appropriate Mexican attire to celebrate 🇲🇽
If not dressed up, students must wear the school uniform

Gobi visits YWLA!
NY Times Bestselling Author & Ultramarathon Runner, Dion Leonard, and his dog, Gobi, visited YWLA on Wednesday, April 30th. Students had the opportunity of a lifetime to hear about the amazing adventures of this little dog across the desert and China.

Talent Show- Individuals or small groups - Must Audition, May 15 or 16.
Lip Sync - Create a LIP SYNC group in advisory class (8 or MORE students) find a 2 minute song (Props and costumes encouraged) - No audition, see Ms Smith
YWLA students continue Earth Day Dress Up Week by wearing animal print to support wildlife conservation. It was amazing to see everyone in animal print with so much school spirit and passion for protecting our planet's incredible animals.
Let's keep that Earth Day energy going!
YWLA students celebrated Earth Day with Ocean Themed gear. Wearing ocean themed outfits or beachwear to promote keeping our oceans and coastlines clean! International Dance Day was honored by wearing a tutu over beachwear outfit.
YWLA is a proud Texas Purple Star Campus. Today YWLA students showed their support of our military-connected students by wearing a purple top. April is designated as Month of the Military Child to recognize and honor their unique experiences, sacrifices, and resilience.
NY Times Bestselling Author & Ultramarathon Runner, Dion Leonard, and his dog, Gobi, will be visiting YWLA next week on Wed April 30th. He will be selling and autographing books after his presentation at 1:30 pm in the Commons.

GT students will be completing a Research Poster Board as their engineering challenge piece in the NASA Aerospace project. Students will present their Research Poster Board to their parents at their GT Student Showcase on April 16th in the Commons & Library areas.
